Lady Gaga celebrating her 25th birthday in LA with a bottle of wine and singing “Born This Way” backed by a full on Mariachi Orchestra.

Didn’t see this one coming: Twin Shadow remixed Lady Gaga’s Born This Way and it’s actually very enjoyable. He replaces the horrible fake 90’s techno beats with his typical dreampop. KING OF POP, etc etc. (via)
I like parts of this. I wonder if you will too?
Here’s Christina Aguilera’s performance from last night’s 2010 Mtv Abortion Movie Awards. This was one of a maybe two things I enjoyed from the show, if not the only thing. To make things concise, here’s why:
It’s been a few years, so I think she’s getting used to riding that entertainment rollercoaster again. Things (including the album) are gonna be a bit uneven at first. Look towards the middle of her tour and her next album for her to (hopefully) hit her stride for realz.
I don’t know. Again, there’s Lady Gaga — people say we’re similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I fucking do! That’s a talent and she’s got a great team behind her, but she’s the industry last’s stab at making itself important - saying, ‘You need our money behind you, the endorsements, the stadiums’ Respect to her, she’s keeping a hundred thousand people in work, but my belief is: Do It Yourself.

You gotta give Lady GaGa credit for either a) being straight up frank and real or b) fucking with everyone with a straight face. Watch this if only for the first words she speaks in answer to the question of what she looks for in a dude. Also, as Frangry would say, she’s got her a mean set of Flapjacks.
