So this trailer for the upcoming LCD Soundsystem documentary about their last show looks fucking great.
I’m glad I got to see them at the Palladium before they ended it all.* Nancy was looking super fine and I made out with an unknown female of the species in the spirit of the show.
*Will there be a reunion? Probably. I think bands “retiring” are a dumb idea, because there’s no reason they still can’t play/record music the next 20 odd years. I mean, look at the Doors and the Stones. Just stop playing and call it an indefinite hiatus.
I feel as though, if I were to make a documentary about my friends, they’d end up taking it over and making it about me. Then they’d realize how much they never liked me to begin with. Much like how this film goes.
I mean, it’s even set in LA & has a Disneyland cameo.
Damn Banksy, u scary!
I watched this last night and, just wow. I was blown away by so much. Jimmy Page just strumming “Ramble On” in a quiet solitude. The Edge re-discovering the original 4 track recordings for “Where The Streets Have No Name”. Jack White & The Edge falling over themselves to watch Page play. It’s an extremely well done documentary, that if you haven’t seen, you really should. I’m bummed I didn’t see it in theaters.
On a sidenote, for some reason, White kinda rubbed me the wrong way. I see his drive and respect what he does and continues to accomplish. However, he just seemed a bit over-the-top and self-indulgent. I dunno. I’ll still listen to his music regardless though.
